About Festival

Festival is organized by the Mediteranian Organization in cooperation with local municipalities, chambers of commerce and local folklore ensemble. The festival will be covered in the media by the local and international press and television. Mayors or the deputy mayors, from the cities of festival contestants, will be honored guests of the festival at the expense of the organizer.

Palagianello – is the smallest municipality in the western part of the province ofTaranto. Historically associated with the civilization of the Stone Age: the current center of the village is located near the eponymous gorge, which for centuries represented the natural defenses, and on whose slopes of the Middle Ages developed a complex and stony village, which is now visibly linked to the modern part of the city.

Taranto – a historic coastal city in southern Italy, often called the “city of the two seas” because it lies between the Ionian Sea and the Mar Grande and Mar Piccolo bays. The city has an extraordinary heritage, from the Aragonese Castle and the Cathedral of San Cataldo to the treasures preserved in the National Archaeological Museum of Taranto (MArTA), which houses one of the richest collections of Magna Graecia artifacts. Taranto is also known for its lively seafront promenades, fishing traditions, and cuisine that blends fresh seafood with Apulian flavors. Folklore performances in this city bring together history, culture, and hospitality in a truly unique Mediterranean setting.

Bari – the capital of the Apulia region and one of the most vibrant cities on the Adriatic coast. Bari is famed for its charming Old Town (Bari Vecchia) with narrow winding streets, the impressive Basilica of Saint Nicholas, and the Swabian Castle. The modern part of Bari boasts elegant boulevards, lively squares, and a bustling port that connects Italy with the Balkans and Greece. The city is also renowned for its traditional cuisine, particularly handmade pasta (orecchiette) and fresh seafood. Hosting performances in Bari allows festival participants to experience a dynamic mix of culture, history, and the warm southern Italian atmosphere.
